TAP Air Portugal has appointed Aeroprime Group as its exclusive cargo General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) across India, strengthening the airline’s cargo footprint in one of the world’s fastest-growing air freight markets. The appointment takes effect in March 2026 and marks a strategic step to expand TAP’s engagement with India’s logistics and freight forwarding community. Both companies are also esteemed members of the NAV and Neutral Air Partner (NAP) ecosystem, reflecting their active role in the global air cargo network.
Under the agreement, Aeroprime Group will manage cargo sales, marketing, customer engagement, and operational coordination for TAP Air Portugal throughout India. Leveraging its extensive pan-India presence, Aeroprime will work closely with freight forwarders, logistics providers and cargo partners to support bookings, market development and service delivery for shipments moving between India and TAP’s international network.
The collaboration aligns with TAP Air Portugal’s broader strategy to optimize cargo capacity utilization and deepen its commercial reach in India, a market experiencing sustained growth in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, perishables and e-commerce. Increasing demand for reliable connections between India and Europe, as well as transatlantic destinations, continues to create opportunities for airlines and logistics partners operating across these corridors.
Bruno Aires, Global Cargo Senior Director at TAP Air Portugal, commented:?“India represents a high-potential market for our cargo business. Partnering with Aeroprime Group as our exclusive cargo GSSA across India strengthens our local presence and enables us to better serve the evolving needs of the Indian cargo community while expanding our reach across key global markets.”
Headquartered in New Delhi, Aeroprime Group provides airline representation, cargo management, sales and marketing services, along with aviation technology solutions for global partners. With operations spanning multiple cities and countries, the company supports airlines in developing both passenger and cargo markets through local expertise and data-driven commercial strategies.
Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director and CEO of Aeroprime Group, said:?“We are delighted to be appointed as the exclusive cargo GSSA for TAP Air Portugal in India. This partnership allows us to bring a focused, data-driven approach to cargo market development. With our strong pan-India cargo sales network and commitment to service excellence, we look forward to strengthening TAP Air Portugal’s cargo presence and unlocking new opportunities for trade between India and its global destinations.”
Through its hub in Lisbon, TAP Air Portugal connects Europe, Africa and the Americas, positioning Portugal as a natural gateway linking Europe with North, Central and South America. This geographic advantage supports cargo flows between India and key transatlantic markets, including Brazil and the wider Americas.
Founded in 1945, TAP Air Portugal operates a global passenger network complemented by significant cargo capacity on its aircraft fleet and has been a member of the Star Alliance since 2005. Aeroprime Group, meanwhile, continues to expand its international presence, offering services such as cargo representation, airline management, digital cargo solutions, regulatory support, flight handling and airport supervision across more than 20 cities in over five countries.
As active members of NAV GSSA Network and the Neutral Air Partner (NAP) ecosystem, both organizations share a commitment to trusted partnerships, specialized expertise and global connectivity, reinforcing the collaborative spirit that drives progress across the international air cargo community.
