Rwanda’s national airline, RwandAir, began operations on December 1, 2002, as Rwandair Express. Established to provide reliable passenger air transportation for Rwanda, the airline also secured rights to conduct airport ground handling at Kigali International Airport, laying the foundation for its future growth in both passenger and ancillary services. The company rebranded in March 2009 as “RwandAir” to expand regionally and internationally.
