NAP @ OceanX 1st AGM

Christos Spyrou represented NAP at the OceanX network 1st AGM which was held at the Grand Hyatt Residence in Chengdu, China. The event brought more than 100 delegates, members, speakers and guests into the capital of China’s spicy west. Ruben Huber, Founder and Director presented the OceanX mission as  a non – exclusive global network of leading ocean freight providers and NVOCCs dedicated to delivering bespoke innovative solutions, in particular on FCL services, LCL consolidation, dangerous goods and chemical logistics, temperature control, as well as project cargo handling.

Ruben gave an overview of OceanX fast growth, currently counting 113 members in 70 countries, aiming at Quality – not numbers, setting high membership standards, adding value to members by supporting them to navigate through challenges and opportunities, and going beyond traditional bilateral facilitation. He highlighted the network’s first year operations such as the new digital and mobile network app , marketplace guide, the efficiency assessment workshop, the Munich transport logistics fair, and the introduction of OceanX market reports .Ruben announced the plans for 2020 and the key dates for network events. Key China innovators’ speeches covered topics like In-depth analysis of the US China trade war and its impact on the trade lane, The belt and road initiative and the role of western China, The Qinzhou gateway and the China-ASEAN partnership via Singapore, Reinventing national distribution and 3PL services in China, Overview on the challenges in West Africa services and liners key differentiation factors in complex environments, as well as a marketplace platform for warehousing and 3PL services across China and Asia.

Christos presented an overview of Neutral Air Partner, the premier global network of leading air cargo architects and aviation specialists, which presently consisting of 250 partners in 150 countries placing the group as one of the largest air cargo services providers worldwide.

The OceanX AGM also featured productive One2One Meetings, Specialization sessions on Project cargo and Cool Chain Logistics, and a case study presenting Digitalization, showing the complexities of implementing solutions, change management and key learnings along the digital journey of member company Jeena & Co in India . Delegates also had the chance to explore Chengdu’s nightlife on an exciting local experience dinner, a variety of local cultural performances from traditional dances, over historic instruments to the famous mask change, a visit to the Chengdu Panda base where they could see giant Panda bears in their natural habitat.
