GENEL TRANSPORT President & CEO Turgut Erkeskin Receives Lifetime Achievement Award in Logistics.

The 7th Logistics Achiever Awards Ceremony was held in Istanbul, Türkiye at the gala dinner of the Economy and Logistics Summit. Turgut Erkeskin, President and CEO of GENEL TRANSPORT, has received the “Lifetime Achievement Award in Logistics” for his successful career and dedicated efforts to support the development of the logistics industry on a global and national level.

The Economy and Logistics Summit was held for the 8th time this year on 14-15 May 2023 in Istanbul. The traditional event presents a significant platform for the Turkish logistics industry that brings together all stakeholders including logistics companies, government officers, NGOs, and representatives of the real economy to discuss a diverse range of topics about logistics and supply chain.

The Summit also hosts the annual Logistics Achiever Awards, which was organized for the 7th time this year. The Award Ceremony was held at the closing dinner of the Summit and awards were delivered in 16 categories to recognize the people, organizations, and projects that make a difference in the Turkish logistics industry.

At the award ceremony, GENEL TRANSPORT President & CEO Turgut Erkeskin was granted the “Lifetime Achievement Award in Logistics”  for his dedicated efforts to support the development and promotion of the logistics industry and design its future through his hard work, contributions, and achievements at several local and international NGOs including FIATAUTIKAD (Association of International Forwarding and Logistics Service Providers), Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce.

Turgut Erkeskin has a nearly four-decade-long career in the logistics industry. Besides building his own forwarding company from scratch and running a successful business in Turkey for 35 years, Erkeskin has assumed several roles at various NGOs and dedicated his career to shaping the future of the logistics industry.

He served as the President of UTIKAD (Association of International Forwarding and Logistics Service Providers) between 2010 and 2016, and the President of the Logistics Business Council of DEIK from 2015 to 2021.

Currently, he is the Senior Vice President of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA).
