Genel Transport, a member of NAX 24/7, Neutral Air Partner’s time-critical and express logistics network, has successfully completed the Safety & Quality Assessment for Sustainability, known as SQAS.
Developed by Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council, SQAS independently assesses logistics service providers across health, safety, environment, quality, security, sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
For Genel Transport, the assessment represents another important step in a 38-year commitment to delivering safe, transparent and customer-focused logistics solutions.
Strengthening specialist chemical logistics
Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Istanbul, Genel Transport provides air, sea, road, intermodal and project logistics services for industries including chemicals, aerospace, defence, fashion, garments and pharmaceuticals.
Its chemical logistics operations are supported by experienced dangerous-goods teams, established operational procedures and a strong international agency network. The SQAS process enabled the company to review its systems comprehensively and identify further opportunities to strengthen safety, environmental performance, supplier management and service quality.
The assessment complements Genel Transport’s existing management infrastructure, which includes ISO 9001, ISO 10002, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001, alongside AEO status and GDP-related pharmaceutical logistics capabilities.
Turning sustainability into measurable information
Genel Transport is also using digital technology to support carbon management and environmental transparency.
Carbon-calculation tools integrated into its operational systems allow the company to provide shipment-level emissions data upon customer request. This gives customers greater visibility of environmental performance and supports more informed supply-chain decisions.
